Deep Dive

There is so much to say about a single piece of art, and if you want to know what I have to say about this one, then you're in the right place.

Onyx, my dog, and I both have anxiety. Yay! She loves to make high-pitched whining sounds and low moos, always staying by my side—especially in the art room and on the couch. She dislikes when my two other dogs (her brothers) exist, particularly when they get attention. She’s a perfect manifestation of what my anxiety looks and sounds like.

What this piece means to me—and hopefully to Onyx—is that sometimes, you don’t need to have all the answers. This is difficult when anxiety demands to know what happens next. So, here’s a not-so-gentle reminder that I can exist without having everything figured out. I just need to take a deep breath and calm down.
